Whee! ^^
Anyway, I wanted to tell everyone how well my show went. ^^ It was a fabulous run, with a great deal of fun had by all. I know I sure enjoyed myself.
Our first show for an audience ran on Thursday, April 4th. We were all nervous, but it turned out great. My family saw it that night, and they really enjoyed it. That weekend was good, except for the fact that I lost my voice. >_< I was hoarse for the Saturday and Sunday performances, but dammit, I still went on. ^^ Everyone said that I did okay, though. They said I soundy sexy with my low, throaty rasp. I just laughed. ^^ I was sniffling and sneezing a lot, but once I got onstage, except for my voice, I was Elain Harper, and I was healthy as anything. ^^
The audiences were really great, except for out Sunday evening performance... I never knew the Nekobox staff could be that quiet. ^^ That audience in general was so quiet, all of the actors thought we were doing another dress rehersal... O_o
Other than that, the run was great. This past weekend, we had three excellent shows, with a fairly full audience, and lots of fun. Our last night was definately our best, and it was with sad hearts that we dismantled the set after the performance. I really felt sad, since this play had been almost the center of my life for the last three months, and now I wasn't going to see any of my new friends again for a long time. But we still had a great cast party, with lots of talking, drinking *innocent look*, and watching the movie version of Arsenic and Old Lace, which was very surreal, but still a lot of fun.
I know I'll be working with all these people again, off and on, but every show is unique, and this one was one of the best I've ever done. I met so many great people. Matt, an great actor, who could crack me up in a second; Moira, with her dry wit and British humor (humour? ^^); Derek, who liked my shorts ^^; Sean, who is just the neatest evil person I know (and tall ^^); Shanelle, who will be very cool as an adult, and is still cool as a teenager; Bhodi, the only person who could make the line "Bully!" work; and Karen, James, John, David, Ray, and Bob, who are just awesome people, and actors, in and of themselves. And I can't forget Jeff, the great and powerful (and goofy)Director; Anicka, the God of Backstage; Caleb, He Who Cues Sound; and my wonderful housemate Sherrie, the Heavenly House Manager. They are all wonderful people and actors, every single one of them. I don't know if they'll ever visit this site, but if you do: Thanks, you guys, for the happiest 3 months I've had in a long time. You guys rock. ^^
