And that's how it goes.
Today, I returned from Otakon to find out that my entire division has been laid off. It comes to a shock to me because everyone, including my boss and their managers, were on the product roadmap until 2004. They had no real warning that we, along with most of the site if not everyone in the site, were just gonna be dropped.
Our product will live on and be transferred to Germany. We, however, will not be.
It's not really a bad thing.
Just not very funny. =^.^=
I will still be doing Nekobox.. in fact, it gives me more time to work on it. I might have to open up a webstore afterall, in order to afford the cost of web services.. but I don't plan to put ridiculous prices for things just because they have my name on them.
This gives me an opportunity to persue Oz and various other things I've been wanting to do. Hopefully, I'll survive =}

Dammit... I leave and everything really *does* fall apart. It's not a horrible thing, it just sucks.
*sigh*
In other news, I leave tomorrow morning (Wednesday early afternoon for you guys on the other side of the world) for Lijiang. I'll be there for the next few days, seeing the sights and escaping the god-awful heat of Suzhou. It's supposed to be extraordinairly (did I spell that right? Probably not...) beautiful, and about 30 degrees cooler than here, so I'm really looking forward to it. We're going horseback riding, what more do I have to say? ^^
Okay, I'm sitting in my godmother's shop right now, listening to the employees argue a little bit in Chinese, and I'm realizing that I understand a heck of a lot more now than I did coming in here. It's kinda cool, and yet kinda scary at the same time. ^^
Go to a foreign country for a few weeks, learn the language. Go figure. ^^
Talk to y'all later.
