2003. Man, no flying cars like they said back in 1960. They said they'd have 'em in 1985. But heck, internet has evolved. And I used to laugh back in high school when they were talking about online gaming and stuff. Heck, I even joked about the day processors would reach 500MHz. Now we've got processors over a gigahertz. I had a 386 then and my buddies had 486s. I wanted to upgrade but things kept me from doing so and my buddies made fun of me saying that in five years when they had Pentuim VIIs I would still have my 386. This was back in 1994. I remember playing X-wing on my 386. I only could play one of the practice missions cause the other missions caused my computer to lag. Had all the details set to the lowest setting too. But heck, where was I goin' with this rant. Ah yes, the new year. You ever come to wonder and ask yourself how the heck did I end up where I'm at and ask yourself why am I not where I wished I was at or thought I would be when I thought about it ten years ago? When I was seven I thought life was planned out and expected each event to happen in it's orderly fashion. As I grew older I found out that wasn't the case. I figured when I was a kid I would grow up to be working and living on my own with a pretty kewl job. However, I look at myself now. I'm 25, still living with my parents and I have a B.A. in Computer Video and Imaging from some no name college and I'm working as a food and beverage server serving rich picky people who tip pretty well but can be a pain if things go wrong. I bet a lotta people are in the same situation I'm in. *SIGH* Sometimes we think that maybe it's fate or some uncontrollable force that has placed us in such a undesireable lot. Sometimes we wanna try to find and blame something or someone. But the more I think about it the more I realize I am the reason why I have ended up where I'm at. The choices I made lead to the situation I'm in. The reason why I'm not working as an animator is because a year ago when I was still unemployed I choose not to try hard enough and be lazy and not work on my portfolio. Thus I ended up with my current job. I don't have a girlfriend because I wasn't aggressive enough when someone told me they liked me. She ended up with someone else cause I was too chicken shit to tell her how much I liked her too. I'm still living with my parents because I choose to be lazy and not work on my portfolio enough to land me a decent job doing animation to make and save some money to move out. It's the choices that we make that determine where we will end up. Sometimes we look at others who are successful and it seems that everything good fell into their lap. But they made choices in their life that allowed them to be where they are at. Of course there will be overwhelming circumstances that may prevent us from making choices that we want to make. But even then we still have choices to make. That's one of the important things we have in life I think. Ability to choose. We can choose to be happy, sad, angry, etc. We can choose to have chicken, beef, or tofu. Each choice of course comes with consequences. But it is a power that we have that we can use to make what our life what we wish it to be. So I can choose to continue the way I'm living right now or I can choose to try and change things and find something better. I think this year I'm gonna try make good choices in life.

Apologies for lack of comic today.. I'm exhausted.. I decided I wanted to take a "vacation" from the comic without really declaring one ^_^ I've started coding my game and right now, it looks like I'm on track for a 3 month deadline. With luck, I can meet it ^_^

But don't fret. Otherworld will update, though, maybe not on any schedule. I've asked a good friend of mine, Jase, to do Nekobox filler for a while.. I'll find out soon when he can start ^_^

Until then.. off to bed with me =^.^=

So works kewl and stuff. I get along with the people. I'm learning some Spanish. Plus I don't have to always stick with one task. I'm the Jack of all trades. Tomorrow I get to do inventory. Whoopee. There's also this one cute girl working in management. Not sure what's her position but it looks really important. Very cute yes....but very cold as well. Heck, she's colder than stuff stored in cryogenics lab. Only time she's ever warm if she needs something from you. That kinda coldness. But you ever try to walk pass by her and say hi....nuthin'. Just sees you as air. Yeah, sure you're trying to do your job but how hard is it to acknowledge a person. Heck, no small talk even. You couldn't even start up a conversation. I dunno, maybe she's really busy and stuff. She also seems to only acknowledge her work peers. That means people in management. I'm just a dinning room server and bar back. I'm nuthin'. Just a grunt, a peon ("Zug zug."), a peasant ("Yes, me lord."). Dude, people like this just piss me off. But man, she's really cute. Maybe I'll try to gradually melt the ice around her if ya know what I mean. *WINK*

In other news today. Yeah, Young's swamped with codin'. So go buy shit. Support his nasty habits and his stuffies. Meawhile entertain yourself with this. Or heck, color this. I suck at coloring. I'm gonna teach my cat how to scratch on turntables.

Dood. Friggin' work. Still like it but it's getting a bit annoying. I was suppose to start at 4:00PM today and work in one of the dinning rooms as a busser. But the day before that they want me to come in at 10:00AM to do inventory. I'm thinking, "Man, they better pay me more for doin' inventory." But heck, coming in at 10:00AM workin' eight hours. Figure I get out at 6:00PM or so. Have enough time to check the theatres and catch the movies. I get inventory done pretty fast with the help of two other people. 4:00PM rolls in so I use the time to help prepare for dinning room. Figure I can get out at 6:00PM. But then some dumb **** decides to call in sick. So we gotta cover the shift. Well, heck, I got my friggin' eight hours after 6:00PM and I know they don't want to pay me overtime. So we call in some newbie to come in and train him how to do things. Thank goodness he was compentent to do the job. Soon, in 15 minutes I get off. But then we realized there's no one at the podium. No host to sit the guests when they come in for their reservations. We find out who's scheduled for today and call her. Turns out another supervisor told her that she didn't have to come in for this week to work. We ask if she can come in but she has no mode of transportation. Crap. No one else but me to take on this job. So from 6:00PM to 8:00PM I'm standing at the podium greeting people who have reservations and seating them at their seats. During dead periods I'm drawing stick figures with light sabers. There were some colored highlighter markers in the draw. Soon 8:00PM hits and I get to go home. I clock out and when I'm about to step out of the employee breakroom there's a call for room service. Damn. I'm the only one with a SQUiRREL card to ring up the room service invoice. SQUiRREL is a system restaurants use to ring up checks and stuff. So I go to ring up the room service but then I realize I don't have a section assigned to me. Heck I never do. For some reason SQUiRREL removes me from any section I have if I don't use it for the next 24 hours or so. SQUiRREL hates me man. So I have to find a manager to assign a section to me. Manager's kinda new but I respect him. I've worked under him for about a month. He knows what he's doin'. Unfortunately it takes a while to assign me a section cause he's not too familiar with the SQUiRREL system. So I'm there and he's there and we're trying to find out how to assign a section for me. Finally did so and got the room service printed out and ready to go. I give it to the newbie who has the order ready on the service tray. I'm about to take off but newbie is not familiar with the hotel rooms and the location of them. Crap. I'm off the clock and I've spent the last 20 mins. trying to assign my SQUiRREL card a section. So I take newbie with me and find the room for him. We get to the room and I tell him what to do when delivering room service. Newbie does a fine job. I'm happy. Stuff is delivered and room guest is happy. Tips him two bucks on top of service charge. Sweet. Room guest sounded like a young woman. I asked him if she was cute and he said she was alright. Lucky dawg. We get back to the dinning room. I have to do a cash out since I have an invoice on my SQUiRREL card. I do that quickly, drop of my cash out in the deposit box and quickly run out to the employee break room and out to the parking lot. Get back home around 9:30PM. Mom comes home 15 mins. after I'm home. Damn. Well, at least I have tomorrow off.

Since Jase will be doing filler for me soon, I thought I'd give him rant access too ^_^ Just testing!
