January 13, 2007 - Saturday

I hate seat covers. They suck. 2007. And what best way to kick it off? A new job and a toothache. Working corporate is really strange. Maybe I should say different. I've worked startup and I've work in smaller companies but corporate is so different. Plus most of my jobs in the past have been with people that weren't so educated. Either people a high school degree or high school drop outs that had kids early living paycheck to paycheck. Here people are well educated and I can carry a good conversation with them. Now I'm the inferior one. I have a nifty key card that only allows me access to the red zones and not the blue or yellows ones. Feels good to be part of the Silicon Valley workforce. Though this feeling will be fleeting. I'm sure of it. It's only an internship. If I work really hard and show them what I'm made of it may turn into a full-time gig. But it's gonna be about two more years to finish the ID program. Shoot. Only a week and a half until the semester starts. I still haven't made a process book for last semesters project. Funny thing is I thought I was going to fail the design process class for not turning in a final project and not showing up to class enough. I got a C+. Good enough for me. Besides that class is suppose to be a lecture class and not a studio class but the design instructor from hell made it into a studio class. Supposedly he's going to be on sabbatical after this semester but he's said that before and never took one. Tenure system sucks. Makes instructors invincible unless they molest, hit or kill their students. You ever think about getting me seat covers I'll kill you. Doesn't matter what kind. Car, couch, recliner, etc. I'll kill you.
