Work's been really slow lately. Summer's kicked in and I guess no one wants to visit and stay at the Hayes Mansion. Room service has been dead so all I've been doing was polishing silverware and organizing racks in the kitchen and giving the bar tender and restaurant host breaks, but even they're not so busy. I need some action man. Maybe a new job or something. Hopefully things will pick up soon.
There's always some kinda situation I always seem to get stuck with where ever I go and that is always being stuck in the neutral zone. I find this happening again at work. About a month ago or so we got a new executive chef. I met the guy, worked with him a few times, got to know him and stuff. He's a bit intimidating at times but I know he means well. But 99.999999999% of the people at work hate him. He makes their lives a living hell. I can see this and understand why a lotta people hate him. Heck, sometimes I feel sorry for the kitchen staff cause they gotta deal with him more. But then this is where it leaves me in the neutral zone. See I don't really have a beef with him much but a lotta people do. And today I was listening to a couple of co-workers who were planning to go down to the union and complain about the situation and hopefully over throw him. I care about the well being of my co-workers and I think the new executive chef is pretty kewl. I think the reason why I don't have a beef with the chef is because I'm an easy going guy and I just do what I'm told to do without asking questions. Most of the other workers don't like being told what to do especially if it is from someone from a different department. I wonder if I kiss too much ass then. I don't wanna be an ass kisser. I'm just doin' my job man. So far no one's called me an ass kisser yet but I bet if they found out about my stand on the situation and being neutral then I'll be labeled an ass kisser.
.........
Meh, fuck it! Let's see them duke it out and see if the union will do anything about it. Maybe there'll be some blood shed. That'll be kewl. At least some action at work.

Sorry, another filler today. That is the image that's going to be used as the shirt design at Fanime =} That's what I spent part of my day on. Thanks go out to Mike and King for helping me out with it exporting it properly (I hope!)
In other news, Nats is looking for a job... she's been here for nearly 7 months now and I know the 'industry' is bad in the San Jose Bay Area, but Nats isn't 'industry'... she's an english major with strong writing skills. It shouldn't be hard to find a job as an editor or writer, should it? But, sadly, it is. Either that, or no one's posting and it's all been kept internal.
Anyway, if anyone out there has any leads on writing jobs, editorial, story driven, article based, whatever... or heck, any jobs available for a bright, intelligent, quick to learn woman, send me a line =}

Yep, it's true! I finally have a REAL job. And it's not retail! *does a dance* It's an honest to pete editing job.
Now I'm going to go run around in circles and squeal some more. ^_^

So... I was at E3 this year and managed to pick up nifty little video card that nvidia was giving away in a contest....
You know, that new one they're doing that doesn't come out till the end of the month...
Anyway, it's nifty and all but I don't play as many computer games as I used to and it seems a waste that I'm not using it to play games when someone else could be the early adopter and getting the frames they want from Battlefield 1942 or their game of choice before anyone else so I'm selling the nifty card...
If your interested or just curious go ahead and check out the auction.

Joy, another worm attacks the Microsoft platform.
As reported by MSNBC.
If I understand it properly, this worm is particularly nasty for several reasons: It takes advantage of a hole, where the email header misrepresents the contents of the attachment, so that the attachment is automatically executed in your Outlook preview pane. Ouch
If that fails, the virus is spread by resending old emails to people, so that it doesn't look like spam or virus-mail; you instead get a normal looking email with an attachment, and evidently this is enough to fool people into running the attachment.
Not only that, the virus installs backdoors and keystroke logging software, to allow someone to take over your computer and to capture sensitive information, such as passwords and stuff.
There's also code in there to automatically connect to the internet if a machine that isn't 24/7 connected gets infected, such as people on modems. This means that people who are on modem are at risk... and this means more than just casual users, but banking institutions, 'secure' machines, etc.
Finally, there's thousands of hard coded references to banking institutions in the virus... meaning it's been designed to intentionally attack banking institutions with all of the above features...
Good luck, Windows users.
Oh, and you know what? Every time I post a rant, I get 5 or 6 emails with viral attachments. Some of our readers are very naughty and are infected with viruses and haven't fixed them yet, despite my many posts about it. Shame on you! I expect I'll be getting 10 viruses tonight.
