Sorry, still no comic, just.... an eerie story I have to tell.
[edited due to threats of legal action]
Recently, I got a work proposition. Here's the letter they sent.
Mr. Wang:
After stumbling across your website on the internet, I was very impressed. We are looking for an artist to create digital images for us for both our website www.megatrndz.com and for in store television advertisements. Please visit our site and make some notes as to what you think you can do for us. For your time you will be well rewarded.
We are in the womens clothing business and plan to open a retail store. I have attached a copy of some designs that you can use as inspiration for a would be story board. I am looking for a creative cartoon superhero who is a female to represent the VRONIK LABEL and the MEGATRNDZ label. It has to be sophisticated with an edgy twist, please no nudity.
I will contact you on your phone at some point in the course of the next two days. 1.408XXXXXXX I believe.
Coincidentally I am also from Toronto Ontario where you have registered your service package.
In any case I look forward to having you on our side. Let me know your availability for the project at hand.
Best Regards
Jess Davis Executive Director www.megatrndz.com & www.shopmegatrndz.com e: [email protected]
So I respond with "I can't say I'm very interested... especially since you give off creepy vibes having my old phone number. How did you get that number, anyhow?"
This is their response.
Young:
The site that lists your information if www.whois.sc .
Its unfortunate that you don't know these things. The internet is an information highway therefore if you are not interested in having people contact you you should not have the registered your informaton.
Artists seem to have this problem of not knowing alot about the business that they are in even though they list over the net. What is your site for if not to generate business?
I probably shouldn't do business with someone who is this inexperienced in handling themselves but I am willing to chance it. Given your lack of confidence maybe you should check us out. I would suggest you do.
Then if you can control your feminine urge to be creeped out, name your price and timeline for creating these cartoons and so forth.
Jess
I'll let you draw your own conclusions since voicing my own opinion on the matter constitutes 'slander' and I was asked to have it removed.

It does seem poor business etiquette to call a number that has not been explicitly listed as a business number.
He comes off as quite a condescending jerk in the second email. The fact that he expects you to accept his offer (as if he's doing you a favor even), despite his completely offensive tone is amazing in itself.
Arrogant @$$.

"Then if you can control your feminine urge to be creeped out..."
*cracks up*
Young, people still think you're a girl. ^_^
In technical terms, that person would be what we call "male chauvinist pig", regardless of their actual gender. Or, simply:
Prick.

Right now, no one else will understand this, but I think it's okay to share it. :3
It started from Young's X-mas present idea, but both Young-sama and Onee-sama kept repeating it over and over. Not as silly as it sounds...
...but if you've seen enough of the first season of DiGi Charat, you'll immediately recognize it as part of Rabien~Rosu's story.
But those two got that phrase stuck in my head so much that whenever something isn't going quite right and start I asking myself these almost desperate "why" questions, they immediately get replaced by this "WHYYYY DIIIIICE?!!!" and I start laughing. XD
So maybe this might help to lighten your mood if I'm contagious enough to get it stuck in your heads. It's always better to go into things cheery rather than angsty.
Of course, it's only funny if you believe it's funny. It's even better when you share it with your friends. o^_^o Hen, ne?
WHYYYYY DIIIIICE?!!! ^o^
