I recently picked up a used copy of Shinobi for ps2 on ebay. Pretty fun game, lots of cool uber-nifty soul devouring ninja sword action. Parts of it can be frustrating and the camera can drive you wonkers during some tricky jumps (I don't think the perfect 3d camera exists yet), but overall I like the game.
I've been working my way through it and for the most part, I found the levels to be harder than the bosses. It's usually take me a number of trys to make it through some of the levels, but for the most part I could take out most of the bosses after 2 or 3 try's. Today, I just made it to the last boss and he completely handed me my @$$ in about a dozen different pieces. It has to be one of the most frustrating boss fights I've ever played. I'd like to say I persevered, took back my @$$ and proceded to hand him his, but alas, this was not the case.
Did some reading and found some decent strategies on the 'net. I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can make a better showing of myself.
Frighteningly enough, I'm playing on normal, and there's a super hard mode to the game. There's something I don't want to torture myself with... I inflict enough other forms of self-torture on myself as it is. Though it would be cool to watch someone else play and beat it. =]

Sorry the comic is so late.. I went to bed last night and completely forgot ^^; I've been really bored lately, and since all I have to do is work I'm becoming really frustrated at it. It's like being chained to your work and never being able to leave. And, when you do leave it's to a convention to work yet again. Don't get me wrong though, I love going to conventions and my job... just, I need something else to do that doesn't involve this house or my computer. And that's difficult to do with no local friends or a car. I should start some kind of anime club.. but, no idea who'd attend.. or if there'd be people I wouldn't want around attend.. ^^;;
Blah.. anyway, I don't suppose anyone's in Virginia? In the north of Richmond area? ^^;

Ah, posting goodness. Haven't done a completely random post in awhile. It needs to be done.
Besides, my brother posted, and since that happens so rarely, I pretty much need to post in response to him posting. ^^
So, what's been up with me? Not much, actually. I've been working on directing my first play, which is keeping me busy 3 or 4 days a week, and worried for the other few days a week. We basically have no money at all, so we're trying to figure out any way at all to not spend any. We're not having programs anymore, just little flyer papers with names and such on them, and we can't buy any set pieces at all (though I might have to buy a Rubix cube, just because we *need* one in the show. ^^) It's going to be fun getting flyers done, I think they're just going to be printed on my friend computer... and I'm talking hundreds of flyers here... *shudder* I don't think my printer could handle it. I hope Jeff's can.
In other news, my classes are going well. They're keeping me busy. Work sucks, but that's mostly because they have no hours to give us, so I'm working 4 hours a week, at the most. So I'm going broke really, really fast. Luckily, I have a line into a better job, and that will hopefully start at the end of the week.
I'm sorry, I have to tell the truth, my real reason for posting today is to kill time while I wait till 12pm to sign up for a class. Typing on a Mac takes me forever, so I'm hoping by the time I'm done with this post, the little clock in the corner of the screen will say 12:00 and I can get into the damn class.
So, a little more rambling. John Mayer won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance! Yay! *does happy dance* If anyone cares, which I doubt any of you do, Mr. Mayer has replaced Heath Ledger(man) in my Celebrity Cool Person of the Year category. C'mon, the man plays Halo constantly, plays (or played, or at least knows how to play) D&D, loves his computer, and is pretty much as much of a geek as you can get. And he's funny too, just watch an interview. All I want to know now is if he watches anime. Then he'd be the perfect geek, and I would have to proclaim him as such. Hell, if anyone knows the answer to this utterly stupid and inane question, tell me, and I will be appropriately amused and girlishly giggly.
And if you don't know who I'm talking about, he's the guy who sings the scary Your Body is a Wonderland song on the radio. I personally think that song should have been saved for his girlfriend, but I guess the world likes a racy song every now and again. He won a grammy for it *shrug*. He's got other, even better stuff though, so either download it or buy his CD (hell, he supports internet music sharing) and enjoy. ^^
And Young and Jase, if you care, make Heath Ledgerman's hair brown/black instead of gold, and you can make fun of me in the comic. ^^
Ah, the clock just turned to 12:00 pm. Wish me luck in getting the class. ^^

And just to completely mess with people's heads, Nats and I, though we enjoy the John Mayer song Your Body is a Wonderland, we enjoy conjuring funny mental images/making up funny lyrics to songs... and we often like to think that he's singing the song to a large, hairy, overweight gay man. It's funnier that way. Oh, for those of you who don't want mental scars, I've made the text white, so you'll have to drag your mouse over it to see it. ^_^

I have perservered in my task of taking down Shinobi's final boss.
The strategies gleaned from the internet were helpful, but did not contribute greatly to my victory.
Through sheer persistence and with the grace of lady luck (luck plays a large part since it contributes greatly to ones inability to defeat him) I was able to finally deliver the final, killing blow to my ignoble foe.
If you'd been in the room at the time you might have heard me exclaim, "YEAH! Take it you God damn sonofabitch! Die, God damn it!"
Ahem...
It says quite a bit about that last boss encounter when it makes me shout like that. The altogether too many hours spent trying to subdue the villain probably contributed to my frustration.
Yeah, just a bit. =]
Anyhoo, I gotsta work in the morning so it's off to bed with me.
Hee Hee! Burn sucker, burn!
